There are over 700 quadrillion dollars in rare materials on just one asteroid between Mars and Jupiter. When people ask me why we need to move into space, I point out many such examples where 16 Psyche is only one. A space economy solves a lot of problems, and helps the human race grow properly in a positive direction.
