Pay to Play - NIL - Updates from NCAA Settlement - Sports Guyz - Episode 20

We welcome special guest Brad Moore, father of place kicker Jackson Moore, who just committed to Appalachian State University football through the transfer portal.  He brings his perspective as a father of a D1 athlete to go over the pressing issues facing college sports - Pay to Play - the path forward on paying athletes in college sports and the end to amateurism.  NIL (Name, Image or Likeness) and the ability for athletes to legally be paid for their services and to represent private brands with their name, image or likeness for money.   Finally, we talk about the open questions facing the NCAA in this uncertain period of its history, after the big House v. NCAA lawsuit settlement that just came down in May 2024.

Will the NCAA survive?  How will players be treated fairly, but we still find a reasonable balance for the universities and the teams, so college sports stay sound and delivers the sports entertainment we all have come to love.  Brad brings his unique perspective, and also talks about his son and similar players path forward in this new environment.  He also shares with the Sports Guyz his work with the NFL Combine for Specialists like kickers and punters and long snappers to be held in Florida, that will become a separate event from the regular NFL Combine.
