Very Dangerous...” US Concerned Over Iron Dome’s Vulnerabilities Amid Israel-Hezbollah Tensions

US officials have serious concerns that in the event of a full-blown war, the Iran-backed Hezbollah could overwhelm Israel’s air defences, three US officials told CNN. A senior administration official told CNN that some Iron Dome batteries in Northern Israel “will be overwhelmed” in case of an attack. US officials have communicated their fears of Iron Dome being vulnerable to Hezbollah’s vast arsenal of missiles and drones. Israeli officials have assured the US that they are planning to shift resources from southern Gaza to northern Israel in preparation for a possible offensive. An Israeli official also said the Iron Dome would get overwhelmed if Hezbollah conducted a large-scale attack principally using precision-guided weapons.
