BC railway bridge fire extinguished, air quality bulletin ended

An air quality bulletin has ended following a fire at a decommissioned rail crossing in Richmond, B.C., Thursday night.

The fire produced thick black smoke that could be seen for kilometres across Metro Vancouver. Metro Vancouver ended the bulletin around 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

"While air quality has improved, hazy conditions may be experienced with the smell of residual smoke in some areas,” Metro Vancouver said.
