The word "liminal" refers to a place or a period that's in transition. Liminal aesthetics, and liminal horror, derive their unique impact from the uncanny feeling we get when we experience them, because our brains feel that something isn't right, even if we can't put our finger on what, or why.

Most of us think of Internet spook stories like The Backrooms, or the Stairs in The Woods when we think of liminal horror... what we don't tend to think of, though, is the tabletop RPG Changeling: The Lost.
