The Braneworld Theory

Braneworld theory is a concept in theoretical physics that suggests our observable universe is a three-dimensional "brane" embedded within a higher-dimensional space known as the "bulk." In this framework, all the standard model particles and forces (except for gravity) are confined to the brane, while gravity can propagate into the extra dimensions of the bulk. This idea addresses several fundamental issues in physics, including the hierarchy problem, which is the vast difference between the gravitational force and other fundamental forces. By allowing gravity to spread out into additional dimensions, braneworld theory potentially explains why it appears so much weaker than the other forces we observe. This concept arises from string theory and M-theory, offering new avenues for understanding the nature of the universe and the fundamental forces that govern it.
