Eternal Security 21 - 1 John 1.9

1 John 1:9 KJV  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God is faithful to His promises that we are already forgiven from the eternal perspective, so to be in right fellowship, we continue to confess our sins and He will remain faithful to His promises. And it would be unjust of Him to hold our sins against us eternally since they already forgiven.
