In a post on social media, the Detroit Lions legend said he suffered an issue "related to my heart" and thanked the healthcare professionals who took care of him. Sanders added that he is "taking this opportunity" to focus on his well-being and health. Sanders, who retired in 1999, is the Lions' career leader in touchdowns and rushing yards.
