David almost did evil when he had the opportunity to avenge himself and kill King Saul (ch.24). In today’s story (ch.25), he almost made another mistake by retaliating against ungrateful Nabal in Carmel, because the man disrespected and refused to give him any share for the protection David gave him. However, God prevented him from making that big mistake when ‘Abigayil appeased David as she interceded her husband Nabal.
Retaliation can ruin your reputation and tarnish your testimony for the Lord Jesus. Calm down when you are disrespected. Check your pride.
