Hate Crime: Lily Basil

#Franklin #Tennessee #highschool senior #LilyBasil was shot and killed by her classmate, #MatthewRoufail , an #Egypt ian native during a high school graduation party in May 2024. Despite being rushed to #VanderbiltMedicalCenter in #Nashville , Basil was pronounced dead. #Roufail insisted his gun was unloaded despite aiming it at Lily. #Williamsoncounty #JudgeJosephWoodruff or #JudgeDeannaJohnson set a $150,000 bond for the murderer which he promptly paid. He is now out of jail and is set to be back in court on August 8th for the charge of #criminalhomicide .
