Pakistan bus crash kills at least 7, injures 18

At least seven people have been killed and another 18 injured following a bus crash in Pakistan’s Karachi on Sunday, according to rescue officials.

En route to a beach for a picnic, the bus was said to be speeding when it collided with a truck and overturned. The truck hit by the bus was reportedly making an illegal U-turn at the time of the incident.

Police say the driver of the truck fled the scene, while the bus driver was among the other injured passengers.

The fatalities include three children, three women and a man, according to Mohammad Amin of the Edhi Rescue Service. Amin said the bodies have since been taken to a mortuary, while the non-fatally injured passengers were taken to a local hospital.
