Your style of dress or the length of your hair will not make you any less a boy or a girl. There are only two genders as the human species is a binary one. No amount of wishing can change this fact. Changing one’s name does not change one’s gender. Make up cannot change one’s gender. Adopting the behavior associated with either gender will not change you into that gender, no matter how comprehensive your performance may be. Government policy cannot change one’s gender. Even if the entire world pretended along side you, you would still be the gender you were in the womb. Creating material for children in contradiction of this absolute truth is not only predatory it’s malicious. The most loving thing you can do for these confused souls is tell them the truth with conviction, compassion, and grace. The most hateful thing you can do is tell them that they are a mistake and that mistake can be corrected with a name change, playing dress up, hormones, surgery, puberty blockers, make believe and societal coercion.
