The Most High, YAH threatens to destroy the house of David unless they execute judgment and deliver the spoiled from their oppressors. He goes on to say that He is against Jerusalem, poetically referred to as "a valley" and "rock of the plain." These poetical descriptions of the capital are reminiscent of "the valley of vision" (Isaiah 22:1 and Isaiah 22:5) while "the rock of the plain" recalls "My mountain in the field" (Jeremiah 17:3) and the fact that Zion is Mount Zion. YAH speaks of how the king and his people trusted, as the Jebusites had done in the days of old (2 Samuel 5:8), in what seemed to them the impregnable strength of their natural position. But Jerusalem and the Second Temple were ultimately destroyed in 70 C.E. by the Romans and since that time unto the present, the Israelites have been in exile in the lands of their enemies. In the Psalms' used in this video, David pleads with YAH through song concerning the destruction, enslavement and restoration of Israel; throughout his pleas for Israel are his pleas for the destruction of Israel's enemies.
