Today, on day 145 of my sobriety journey, I delve into my early attempts at recovery. At 22, I entered a 12-step rehab program, unaware of what the 12-step process entailed or what recovery truly meant.

In this video, I share my experiences and reflections on what I think I did wrong during that time. As a young person, just trying to grasp the concept of recovery and 12-step programs was challenging. I remember my father mentioning something called AA when I was 18 or 19, but I didn't have a clue about what it was.

My first encounter with a 12-step program was eye-opening. I talk about my initial views on the program, my experiences in rehab, and how these early attempts shaped my understanding of recovery. I also discuss what works for me now and how my approach to sobriety has evolved over the years.
