VAN JONES IN 1993 VS. 2024... WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

Here are two clips 31 years apart showing the same man, Anthony Kapel ‘Van’ Jones, who has changed remarkably since 1993, when he graduated from law school.

The younger, dreadlocked @VanJones68 (IG and X) appears resolute in denouncing wrongs by the imperialist US government. Back then, he told a cheering crowd that should his generation fail in its activism against mass incarceration of Black people, it should ‘get haircuts and go get regular jobs and give it up.’

Three decades later, Jones is a prominent face at the pro-establishment media network CNN, sporting a haircut and a reported net worth of $5 million as he propagates anti-resistance propaganda. He also spoke at the ‘March for Israel’ rally in November in Washington.

We think a younger Van Jones might be shocked at his 55-year-old self comparing the Confederate flag (often associated with racism, segregation and slavery) with the Palestinian keffiyeh, a symbol of nationalism and resistance against a 76-year Israeli occupation.

Jones is an example of so many progressive folks who sell out later in life when the trappings of capitalism snuff out their fire.
