Additional experiment information:

Both poles oriented the same. Both N42. Both rated 13200 gauss. Only difference is field pattern and the effect they have on the half sphere coils. I also widened the opening of the large half sphere coil large enough to pass the spinning sphere magnet through and tried the same experiment. There is a very distinct focal point INSIDE the bowl about 3/4" from the opening! When I move the spinning sphere past that focal point it then want to push out through the hole. VERY INTERESTING!
