john Setka steps down as CFMEU boss

Controversial union heavyweight John Setka has resigned effective immediately.

The outgoing CFMEU secretary blames the media for his decision to step down from the top job but claims he is doing it to protect members.

This comes after a raft of explosive allegations from Nine Newspapers were put to him and the Victorian CFMEU.
