ONE WEEK after he was born, Jet caught a staph infection as a result of a contaminated intravenous line - as a result, his growth plates in his left leg were affected and his leg "stopped growing." As a child, Jet went through 13 surgeries to try to maintain the mobility on his left side - with metal pins and screws fixing his hip in place. When he later went for an X-ray, it was found that all the screws and pins in his hip were "disconnected and broken in half" and are now floating around in his leg. This causes Jet constant pain all day, every day - something that can only be partially helped by his fiancée Angel giving him a massage. As Angel told truly: "I wish [he] didn't have to go through this. If I can take [his] pain away, I would." But Jet has turned that pain into ambition and is now a successful businessman - making six figure sums each year. And the misconceptions people have about him have only added fuel to that fire: "People feel like because I have a disability I'm not able to have a beautiful wife, I'm not able to have my own kid, I'm not able to have a successful career." Jet has all three of those things and has invested his hard-earned cash in a jewellery collection worth $160,000 and an orthopaedic shoe collection worth over $100,000. Still, Jet frequently runs into trolls online who accuse him of "getting all that money from a disability check" - something he finds "demeaning." So he has made it his goal to "prove all the doubters and the haters wrong" - and no one would dispute that that's exactly what he is doing.
