‘A Plethora of Great Names’: Thiessen on Trump’s Veep Choices

ROBERTS: “New Washington Post editorial came out, says, Biden remains in denial, he needs to come to grips with reality, the time has come for the president’s allies to have a candid conversation with him. So, lost the Washington Post. Now let’s talk about something else. Donald Trump and the veepstakes, I don’t want to ask you who he is going to pick, but where do you think he has had a question mark?”
THIESSEN: “You have got to think about it this way. Republicans have a little bit of irrational exuberance about this election. If the election were held today, Donald Trump would win. But if the election were held today, voters would be surprised. There’s a lot of time between now and Election Day, and this election will be decided by a handful of swing voters in a handful of swing states. Every decision Donald Trump makes including his veep has to be focused on that swing voter who thinks Biden is a disaster but is not quite sure that they want to put Donald Trump back in the Oval Office.”
