Fearing King Šaul, David sought refuge again in Gath, where he used to hide from Šaul and where he pretended to be a madman among the Phəlishtines (ch.21). This time, he was sane and he came with 600 men and his families. Amazingly, King Achish of Gath accepted him and gave them Ziqlag as their own place. He fought battles and brought the loot for the Phəlishtines. The dreaded moment came when King Achish told him he had to join him in a major battle against the Yisra'elis. David was put in a compromising position. Will he fight against his people Yisra'el? Or, will he turn his back against King Achish, who treated and trusted him very well and gave him Ziqlag? What would you do when you have put yourself in a compromising or conflicting situation?
