President Joe Biden stopped by Detroit late last week, but he did not receive the red carpet welcome

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Biden’ reelection campaign co-chair, skipped town to promote her recently launched book and attend a tech and media conference in Idaho. Other no-shows included both the state's U.S. Senators and fellow Democrats Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who is running to fill Stabenow's seat when she retires in November, did not attend the event.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson was on hand to greet the President. Biden told the crowd he is not dropping out of the race.
