During the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Madeline Brame, a mother who lost her son, Army veteran Hason Correa, in a stabbing incident in 2018, spoke passionately about the need for stronger law enforcement and tougher prosecution of crime. Her son was fatally stabbed in a fight outside a Harlem apartment building in New York City.

Brame’s emotional speech, delivered on Day 2 of the RNC, targeted “soft on crime prosecutors” in Democratic-majority cities, citing her son’s case as an example of the devastating consequences of lenient justice. She specifically mentioned Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, accusing him of mishandling her son’s case.
