Increased Risk of PTSD in Men

Research suggests that men are less likely to develop PTSD than women, but when they do, the symptoms can be more challenging to identify. Men may internalize their symptoms and hide them, leading to delayed diagnosis and treatment.

Common Symptoms of PTSD in Men:

Why Men May Experience PTSD Differently?

Men are often socialized to suppress emotions and hide vulnerability, which can make it harder for them to acknowledge and seek help for PTSD. Additionally, men may be more likely to engage in self-medication through substance use or other coping mechanisms, which can exacerbate the condition.
