In the latest in my Underlooked Bands series, I discuss quintessential English progressive rock band Stackridge!

Formed in Bristol in 1969, Stackridge's musical style is a unique blend that defies easy categorization, encompassing elements of progressive rock, folk, pop, and even touches of whimsy and eccentricity often associated with British humor. Their sound features intricate arrangements, multi-instrumental prowess, and an eclectic approach that draws from a variety of genres.

They are also famous for being the first ever band to play Glastonbury!

And pop spin off The Korgis became another of my favorite bands too!

This video includes a fascinating conversation about life on the road in the 1970's with Stackridge, featuring road managers Peter Donovan and Alan "Granny" Grange". Thanks to those gentlemen for their time.
