"Raffles" is an American crime comedy film released in 1939, directed by Sam Wood. The plot revolves around A.J. Raffles, a charming and sophisticated cricketer who leads a double life as a jewel thief. When he rekindles his romance with an old flame, Gwen, he tries to reform his criminal ways. However, the temptation of a valuable necklace and the pursuit of a persistent Scotland Yard detective make it difficult for him to leave his old life behind. The film stars David Niven as Raffles, Olivia de Havilland as Gwen, and Dudley Digges as Inspector Mackenzie.
