Dependence on a Controlled medication like opioids DOES NOT equal and Addiction to that medication and it MATTERS; PERIOD!!– and Patients are LARGELY being harmed & abandoned! Dependence and tolerance are two expected biological outcomes for these medications and many others. The rate of ‘addiction’ in opioid tolerant patients prescribed an opioid in LESS THAN 1%; so stop stigmatizing opioids, and spreading anti-opioid PROPaganda & rhetoric
