Arthur Fleck encounters music therapist Lee while confined in Arkham State Hospital following his live on-televised murder of Murray Franklin. Due to their mutual illusions, the two fall deeply in love and undergo musical insanity, and Fleck's supporters launch a campaign to liberate him from Arkham, which ultimately leads to the establishment of the Clown Prince of Crime's criminal enterprise.
