Here's a delicious recipe for the best fried ravioli, perfect for a tasty appetizer or snack.
Ingredients:
1 package (16 oz) of frozen cheese or meat ravioli
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil, for frying
Marinara sauce, for dipping
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Prep the Ingredients:
Cook the ravioli according to the package instructions until they are just tender (al dente). Drain and let cool slightly.
Prepare the Breading Station:
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
In another shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
Bread the Ravioli:
Dip each ravioli into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
Coat the ravioli in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Fry the Ravioli:
Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot (around 350°F or 175°C).
Fry the ravioli in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until golden brown and crispy, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried ravioli to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
Serve:
Serve the fried ravioli hot with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
Tips:
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the breadcrumb mixture for a bit of heat.
If you prefer a healthier version, you can bake the breaded ravioli in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
