"The Amazing Mr. X" (also known as "The Spiritualist") is an American film noir thriller released in 1948, directed by Bernard Vorhaus. The plot follows Christine Faber (Lynn Bari), a grieving widow who encounters a mysterious spiritualist named Alexis (Turhan Bey). Alexis claims to be able to communicate with her deceased husband and offers to help her find closure. However, as Christine becomes increasingly drawn to Alexis, her friend Martin (Richard Carlson) grows suspicious of his motives and uncovers a dark secret about his past.
