"The Harder They Fall" is an American boxing film noir released in 1956, directed by Mark Robson. The plot follows Eddie Willis (Humphrey Bogart), a down-on-his-luck sportswriter who is hired by an unscrupulous boxing promoter, Nick Benko (Rod Steiger), to promote Toro Moreno (Mike Lane), a giant but unskilled Argentine boxer. Unbeknownst to Toro, all his fights are fixed, and Eddie is tasked with generating hype and misleading the public. As Eddie becomes increasingly disillusioned with the corrupt world of boxing, he must decide whether to expose the truth and risk his career or continue to participate in the deception.
