Chastity SVG Kanji Shogi Set

This shogi set uses SVG files which are part of some open source projects like Liground. I designed the shogi board itself to have the colors of C0-40 that I wanted and made sure each square was exactly 80x80 pixels. The shogi set only contains the unpromoted form of the pieces. With some more work I could add the others. All of the pieces were imported into Inkscape and then aligned to pages of 60x60 pixels at their original default size. Then they were aligned and grouped onto 80x80 squares which were turned invisible but still exist so that snapping works correctly. This makes it possible to actually play shogi using Inkscape alone! Even without the official promoted forms of the pieces, all someone has to do is change the colors to mark them as promoted and then follow the rules.

But the idea for this was to have an image to represent the game of Shogi for blog posts and album cover art. For playing the game of Shogi seriously, I recommend lishogi.org .
