Is the BBC right about chemtrails?

The BBC weather reporter, Simon King, suggests that geo-engineering could actually be a good way to save the planet from the so-called man-made global warming. Is he right? Or is this just a way to persuade the hard-of-thinking that governments who are meddling with our skies have our best interests at heart?
