Jasper Alberta. Historic and home to many memories. We all can recall our trips to this jewel of a mountain town.
Who is going to be held accountable for the losses?
Fires are inevitable, but mitigating those risks are what we were supposed to be learning over the 100+ years that we have been living and playing in these areas.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to hear this unclouded perspective from this advisor to governments. He lays it on the table and asks for the resignations of these officials that allowed the lessons you would expect to have been absorbed, unanswered.
How many more fires will we have to see? How many more people need to be displaced before we call for the basic answers?
Are we living in a free for all tyranny, where we just watch our heritage burn and we are too pacified to act?
Is this the legacy we leave to our children?
"Oh, sorry, kids. We were too scared to stand up and fight, so there used to be a beautiful park and wildlife here, but we just have some nice pictures now"

I for one am not willing to see these incidents continue and I encourage anyone viewing this to ask more questions and share this with friends and family.
