I want to talk about something related to SEO. I want to talk about AMP, AMP pages, and AMP accelerated. AMP stands for accelerated mobile pages. Right? What do I think about AMP pages?

I initially hated them because I thought they were Google’s forced web developers and designers to adopt this completely new stripped stylesheet. It’s like you couldn’t do anything new. You can’t run any JavaScript; you can’t run any ads. So again, these are my thoughts and how I saw it when it was first released. And that was limiting.

Who wants to do that? No one. No one wants that. You know, it’s to make a better user experience. But is it because every website is going to be the same? And it was for a while. I remember seeing that every AMP page or template was the same. Then a few months later, we started seeing different layouts for AMP pages, and they started looking similar to the everyday mobile experience of the page, just a little faster.

So that’s not so bad. For now, the company that I’m working for, they’re AMP pages, which you couldn’t. I mean, they’re just beautiful, frankly. They’re really beautiful. They’re seamless. They’re super fast. Crazy fast. Um, and they still run ads. So my point is that you know. First, I wouldn’t say I liked this whole AMP thing because it seemed like Google was forcing you to accept this new idea down your throat.

Like in Google News. If I remember correctly, only AMP pages were eligible for Discovery News, and then they were like, well, you know, all right, well, lift that. And now they’re removing the icons. So it seems like Google’s taking a big step back from what they initially wanted to do, which, in my opinion, forced everyone to use this new, very lightweight framework for building their websites.

Another qualm I guess I have with AMP is its two different websites. If you’re on WordPress, you have your website, but then you have your AMP website, which is kind of yes, yes, and no. Do you know what I mean? If you use WordPress, you know what I’m talking about. You have your AMP saying in your AMP theme.

AMP site and theme. So it’s kind of like two different things. But yes, that’s all I have to say about that. If I am using AMP now, am I? As I said, the AMP pages are wondering where I work. They load fast. There are no bugs; they’re great.
