Russian Navy undergoes planned drills on deploying fleets

and Caspian Flotilla in operational zones

Units and formations of the Russian Navy commenced the planned drills in the operational zones of the Northern, Pacific, and Baltic fleets as well as in area of the Caspian Flotilla responsibility. During the combat drills, up to 300 surface ships and motorboats, submarines, and logistic ships, 50 aircraft, more than 200 units of military and special hardware as well as more than 20,000 servicemen and civilian personnel of the units and formations are deployed during the drills.

For several days, the ships' crews, the Naval Aviation, and coastal units of the three fleets and Caspian Flotilla are to perform more than 300 combat exercises with live fires. These include air defence missile live fires, artillery live fires at maritime and aerial training targets, exercises on setting up jamming to take the units away from attacks of the mock enemy as well as drills on using anti-submarine of surface ships and the Naval Aviation of the Russian Navy.

The main goal of the drills is to inspect actions of the command of the Russian Navy on all levels as well as combat readiness of the ships' crews, Naval Aviation, and coastal units to perform tasks according to the purpose.
