I’ve spoken to many young family friends eager to pursue a career in medicine. However, I would caution against choosing this path solely for financial gain. My first job earning six figures came at age 31. Imagine, if you skipped college, that’s 13 years you could have excelled in sales or trades. The average medical school debt now hovers around $250k, if not more. Given the soaring costs of education, is it really worth it?
