The ISF is required for both bonded and non-bonded shipments. The 10 key data elements required for the ISF include manufacturer/supplier information, seller/owner information, buyer/consignee information, ship-to party information, container stuffing location, consolidator/stuffer information, importer of record number, consignee number, country of origin, and Harmonized System (HS) code. Submitting this data at least 24 hours before the vessel's departure is crucial to avoid penalties and delays. A customs bond, although required for all commercial importations, is not directly related to the ISF process.
