At the age of 16, Frank Abagnale Jr. began his criminal career by running away from home and becoming a masterful con artist. He started by forging checks and quickly escalated to more elaborate schemes. Abagnale impersonated various professionals, including an airline pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer, forging credentials and documents to support his claims. He used these disguises to cash fraudulent checks, evade capture, and live a luxurious lifestyle. One of Abagnale's most audacious cons involved impersonating a Pan Am pilot. Between the ages of 16 and 18, he flew over 1 million miles to 26 countries on more than 250 flights, all without a pilot's license. He managed to convince people of his status as a pilot through charm, confidence, and forging documents. Abagnale’s criminal activities eventually caught up with him, leading to his arrest in France in 1969 when he was 21 years old.
