Data centers, AI & Crypto require a lot of energy that will need fossil fuels & grid upgrades

The increasing number of #datacenters that create #cryptocurrency and #AI applications will need more #electricalpower in the future. Currently most large data centers use up around 100 MW. That will increase by 10 times in the future. Most likely, these data centers will need to have their own #powerplant that runs 24-7. This most likely create more fossil fuel power plants needed for just these applications. Unfortunately, this will create a lot more #GHGemissions but is necessary for our societal advancement.
