From Here To Eternity (1953)

Directed by Fred Zinnemann, starring Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Deborah Kerr, and Donna Reed. Set in 1941, just before the attack on Pearl Harbor, the story focuses on the lives of several soldiers stationed at a Hawaiian Army base. Private Robert E. Lee Prewitt (Montgomery Clift) is a former boxer who refuses to fight in the ring again, facing harsh treatment from his superiors.
