A Stronghold in the Day of Trouble

There is a reason not too many people will preach from Nahum 1:2, People do not like to be reminded of God’s wrath and judgment.
The burden of Nineveh is the judgment of the Almighty God. Assyria was a wicked nation and the LORD allowed Assyria to defeat and scatter the northern kingdom of Israel because of Israel’s idolatry and sin. The LORD wanted Israel to repent and He sent many prophets to them to urge them to repent, but they continued to turn away from God. God is love and God is just. What you must remember is that God is never vindictive. God is never petulant or given to swings of emotion. God judges because He is just. That does not exclude love, but He is just.
