In this video I want to talk about whether depression can cause weight loss and again the answer is yes depending on the person. 💙

So whereas weight gain can be caused by an increase in cortisol and stress and the person comfort eating, weight loss is a result of the person having the same symptoms, those of depression but instead of using food as a way of feeling better, the person actually has little regard for food, the kind of anhedonia effect and they just are not interested in eating. 💙

Either that or they don't have the energy to cook and they don't want to just reach for what's available. So for those people they will go the opposite way of those who experience weight gain as a result of depression, they will experience weight loss as a result of depression. 💙
