THE JOY OF BIBLICAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Galatians 6:1 New King James Version
6 Brethren, if a man is [a]overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
GOOD EVENING IN YESHUA GANG!!!
Something about these verses of scripture my friends, really challenged and convicted my heart, because there are things that I struggle with, that I only share with God, because I don't trust others. Why, you ask? Because I've encountered people who aren't interested in helping me overcome the struggle I'm having, but they want to use my struggle against me. I think that's why I really enjoyed reading this passage of scripture, and I'm asking God to show me who I can trust and confide in. Aside from my husband, I do have a couple of core people, but ones in Delaware and the other one’s in Arizona. I can communicate with them though, and I’m very grateful for them. However, they're the only ones I trust.
Tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things that God showed me from this passage of scripture, as well as quite a few others out of God's Word, through this vlog I'd like to share with all of you tonight, and I pray that what I share with you will encourage you to not be afraid to practice not just godly biblical, confession, but also to practice genuine, biblical, godly accountability with others. Come join me in this vlog tonight my friends, and learn what it means to practice biblical accountability, with compassion, love, and mercy! 😊
So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with these final questions from this morning's devotional, and I pray that you not only think about them, but that you were willing to act on them between you, God, and someone that you implicitly trust.
What do you need to confess—and to whom?
What’s holding you back?
I pray that you are able to apply what James is saying about confessing, getting out in the open, and being willing to hold yourself accountable to others in your struggles and faults. I'm also praying that you're able to find someone that you implicitly trust, that will not use your struggles, imperfections, and faults against you for their own perverse satisfaction. It’s as Winn state so very well, “James invites us to live an open life, confessing to God and those closest to us the pains and failings were tempted to bury. We don't have to carry these burdens alone. Confession is a gift to us. God uses it to cleanse our heart and set us free. Let's use it as such!
