Black Swan Trial – FL v. Ashley Benefield Day One

A former ballerina is facing trial on charges she murdered her husband in the middle of their custody battle. Ashley Benefield, 32, is charged with second-degree murder for the death of her husband, Douglas Benefield, 58, who was shot to death in Ashley’s bedroom in Sept. 2020. Ashley has not denied pulling the trigger but has argued that she did so in self-defense.
