What is the best Bible translation?

Nehemiah Gordon and Michael Rood discuss what the best Bible translations are. Coming to the conclusion the use NRSV, JPS, KJV etc. Worst translation mentioned was NIV (hidden agenda). But to use more than one translation and compare. I would suggest after comparing, go to the Greek/Hebrew translation like a concordance that is word for word.
