2024 Crossfit Games Death | How it Happened & Who is at Fault

At the 2024 crossfit games, day 1, event 1, the run – swim event an athlete tragically drowned. This athlete close to the end of the swim and towards the very front of all the contestants. There were emergency personnel (life guards) on paddle boats during the swim event. In fact, there were two life guards on either side of the deceased athlete when this person was struggling. It was so clear this person was struggling that a spectator dove in from shore in an attempt administer aid.

Is it the fault of the safety personnel in the water or crossfit for planning a swim event after a run? Should the crossfit games for 2024 continue? If you were an athlete, would you want the rest of the games to be canceled?
