To distract the villain, Laura transformed into Codpiece, taunting him with a small version of her weapon. In the fight, the Doom Patrol decided to run away as there were too many Were-Butts to defeat, but Vic refused to accompany them, fighting side by side with his future depowered selves until Laura took the form of Silas, distracting the two Vics to Rita put the Vic from the past in the machine, leaving the future Vic to fight the Zombie Were-Butts alone.
