BORDERLANDS Suffers with Embarrassing Opening

The opening weekend has concluded for the latest video game adaptation Borderlands and many are saying this is looking to be one of the biggest box office bombs of the year.

The film’s reported budget is nearly $100 million and only received less than $9 million during its opening weekend. When combined with both terrible audience and critics review scores it is looking like the film won’t have much staying power either. It seems as if the filmmakers did not understand the source material and instead tried to create something with just a Borderlands skin that came across as alienating to the fanbase of the video game franchise.
