08.04.24 "Our Healing, The World's Healing: an Exciting Adventure!"

There is no point in lamenting the condition of the world because the world is only an effect. The world will be sick or healed based on our perception of our own condition. "The resurrection of the world awaits your healing and your happiness, that you may demonstrate the healing of the world." (OrEd.Tx.27.61) The unhealed condition we think we see in the world is merely a reflection of our own unhealed condition. Our healing is the world's healing. And the converse is also true, the world's healing is our healing.

When we turn our perceptions of sickness over to the Holy Spirit we must be ready to be led. We cannot second guess the Holy Spirit's guidance. Perhaps we will be guided to a purely internal process. Perhaps we will be guided to work on what appears to be an external aspect of our lives. Perhaps we will be guided to do charity work for a pressing world situation. It is not our place to tell the Divine how it should accomplish its job. "Ask and receive. But do not make demands nor point the road to God by which He should appear to you. The way to reach Him is merely to let Him be." (OrEd.WkBk.189.8) Let God be God.

When I ask for guidance I sometimes get directions to do something which seems quite unrelated to the perceived problem. It is only later that I see the connection, and sometimes the connect is never evident. "And what he hears may indeed be quite startling. It may also seem to be quite irrelevant to the presented problem as he perceives it, and may, in fact, confront him with a situation that appears to be very embarrassing." (OrEd.Mn.21.5)

However my healing waits for me to follow the directions received and upon my healing all the world's healing waits. "[Our weary brothers] must await your own release. They stay in chains till you are free. They cannot see the mercy of the world until you find it for yourself. They suffer pain until you have denied its hold on you. They die till you accept your own eternal life." (OrEd.WkBk.191.13)

In this sense our healing and the world's healing is an exciting adventure. We never know where our guidance will lead us. However we do know that it will always lead us to new levels of peace and happiness. And this peace and happiness will not just be ours alone. We will share it with the whole world.
