What is Virtue Jerking?

A performative display where a group of people publicly feign moral superiority or righteousness, often through repetitive or exaggerated virtue signaling. It combines the concepts of "virtue signaling"
(where individuals express opinions or take actions to demonstrate their ethical stance rather than genuinely addressing issues) and
"circle jerking"
(a self-congratulatory or insular group activity).

In simple terms, virtue jerking is when people loudly and proudly flaunt their ethical badges—not because they deeply care, but because they crave that sweet, sweet validation from their like-minded buddies. It’s a social circus, where the spotlight is on who can do the best performance of virtue, while actually possessing as little as possible in reality. It can get hectic in anti-flat-earth-groupies and can escalate to dangerous levels.

A group of people all trying to outdo each other in a grand display of moral peacocking, where the main goal isn’t solving world problems but rather collecting digital pats on the back. It’s like a synchronized swim of self-righteousness, where everyone’s splashing around in the shallow end, making big waves but not getting anywhere.
